Accessibility

I want everyone to be able to read this site and write to me. This statement says what the site does to make that possible, where it falls short, and how to tell me when something does not work for you.
1. The standard
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard referenced by the UK Equality Act 2010 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive.
2. What the site does
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. Focus is always visible as a cream outline.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first item on every page.
- Text and background keep a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout still works on a 320-pixel-wide screen.
- Every form field has a label for screen readers, and errors are announced.
- Links that open a new tab say so to screen readers.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion stops if your system asks for reduced motion. The moving name on the home page is a decoration, and it is hidden from screen readers.
- Pages use proper headings, lists, and landmarks.
3. Known limits
- Posts loaded from X are rendered by X. Their accessibility depends on X. The text of each post is shown on this site before you load it.
- PDF papers in the Journal may not be fully accessible. Ask me for an accessible version.
- The admin area is for the site owner only and is not part of this statement.
4. Tell me what does not work
If any part of this site is hard to use, or you need content in another format, email hello@lakshitha.co.uk. I reply within 1 working day and fix what I can.
If you are in the UK and not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS): equalityadvisoryservice.com.
5. How this was tested
The site was checked with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom to 200%, a 390-pixel-wide mobile viewport, and the reduced-motion system setting. This statement is reviewed when the site changes.
